Paper Magic. Xi Wén can animate and control origami figures, making them real.
h i s t o r y
Xi Wén was born to a young mother and father in Los Angeles, the youngest of three. Between her musically gifted sister and genius brother, Xi Wén was used to being left somewhere in the background, with exception to her sister. She took advantage of this, and made her own way, doing as she pleased and surviving the occasional input from her parents.Xi Wen tried to spend as much time as she could away from home, with friends. That is, until the year she turned eleven. Her father, on his return from a wedding back in China, began turning much of his attentions to her, training her to be something he called a paper mage. Xi wen was pleased to find out about her abilites, happy that she was special too, like her siblings.
Her lessons took up much of her free time, and isolation and meditation were large parts of it. She saw her siblings less than she usually did, which she considered a huge loss as a chance to prove herself. Her father never told her anything about her destiny or the end; truth be told, when she asked all he ever said was some mumbled answer that changed every week. On Xi Wén's 15th birthday her mother took her aside to explain everything to her, making her promise never to let her father know that she knew. Not understanding why her father kept such a thing a secret, Xi Wén promised her mother, and resolved to work harder than she previously had.
When the time came for Xi Wén to attend university, it was expected that she would go to school in China, her parents claiming it was a family tradition(both Xi Wén's siblings went to school on the East Coast, but she didn't point that out).
p e r s o n a l i t y
Xi Wén had always been a handful. Even as a young kid, she would tear through her house like a tornado, shouting, roughhousing, and climbing the furniture. No game or activity ever held her interest for more than a few minutes and she would often dart off suddenly, forgetting all about whatever she'd been doing before.
Thankfully, she's long since grown out of that type of behavior. Her training in paper magic likely helped to make her more mature, and less likely to lash out. She has a tendency to whine sometimes, though, and can revert back to her childhood manners, such as becoming irritable when she's confused or whathaveyou, particularly when she's anxious or excited. She often tries to stay cheerful and lighthearted no matter the situation, as she has a brooding problem, and would rather not be a useless, angry wreck at all.
